Chef Santos Uy converted his Michelin Bib Gourmand bistro Papilles into For The Win in March 2020. The core formula was simple and repeatable: fresh-ground beef smashed thin, onions pressed into the patty, American cheese, fry sauce, and Martin's potato roll.
Since launch, For The Win has expanded across Los Angeles while maintaining strong editorial support from The Infatuation, LA Times, Eater LA, and Time Out. The Hollywood flagship remains the most consistently praised location.
