Cliff Blauvelt, a Northside Denver native, opened Odie B's (then called Bodega) in Sunnyside in summer 2022 with wife Cara, turning a neighborhood counter-service spot into one of the most talked-about breakfast and burger destinations in the city. The name - a nod to Ol' Dirty Bastard of Wu-Tang Clan - set the tone: a modern bodega mixing neighborhood energy with serious technique. After a trademark dispute forced a rebrand in July 2024, Odie B's opened a second location in RiNo in January 2025.
The Double OD Burger is a double smash with American and cheddar jack cheese, dilly pickled onions, dill pickles, and the house fancy sauce on a potato brioche bun. The garlic-scented patties and pickled-onion profile are the key differentiators, and the burger has repeatedly shown up in Denver best-of coverage.
The kind of spot that's obnoxiously good at everything it does, from the double smashburger that's landed on pretty much every best-of list in town to the griddled banana bread.
On the thicker end of the spectrum, we love the double burgers at Bodega in Sunnyside.
A double smooshed patty burger featuring two types of cheese and chef Cliff Blauvelt's specialty sauce on a potato brioche bun.
The fast-casual spot takes staples like cheeseburgers and breakfast sandwiches and makes the best possible versions, all with friendly service and a space that oozes retro 90s energy.
A boisterous shop oozing community culture and hip-hop vibes - the Blauvelts are legends in the Denver foodservice and culinary scene.
One reviewer who tried the Double Bodega Burger noted they're not a huge fan of smash burgers and found the dilly onions and sauce were too sweet.
Honestly the best food we had in Denver! The vibe is awesome in this place.
