Ted's Burgers started in Teodoro Armas' backyard and became the spark that lit Miami's smashburger scene. Ted debuted as a weekend pop-up at J. Wakefield Brewing in Wynwood in 2021 and won the Burger Bash Judges' Choice at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. After years of pop-up demand, Ted's opened its permanent Wynwood home on December 20, 2025.
The OKC is the burger that introduced Miami to the smash technique. A beef patty is pressed until it forms a lacy crisp skirt, with caramelized onions smashed directly into the cook, American cheese, and house T sauce on a Martin's potato roll. Reviewers consistently recommend ordering it as a double.

Pretty much every smashburger in Miami can be traced back to Ted's. It introduced this city to smashburgers when it debuted as a pop-up in 2021.
The patty looks like Bugs Bunny just dropped an anvil on top of it. Get it as a double - a single gets a little lost among the American cheese.
The 'Platonic ideal of the smash burger.' One of the top contenders in the Miami smash burger scene.
After the Ted's Burgers pop-up arrived at J. Wakefield in Wynwood, it changed the South Florida burger game.
Perfectly charred bits on the edges but incredibly juicy with each bite.
