The northwest suburbs' dedicated halal smash burger operation, with house-made slaw sauce that reviewers call one of the best they've tasted. Three Chicagoland locations, all halal-certified.

Slaw Burger opened its flagship Palatine location on April 18, 2025, the creation of Asad Khan of Addison - a first-time restaurateur with a mission as central to the brand as the menu itself: for every sandwich sold, one is donated to feed people in need, currently supporting about 500 meals a day in developing countries. The concept fills a real gap in the northwest suburbs - a dedicated halal smash burger operation where 100% Angus beef, certified by Halal Monitoring Services, meets the classic flat-top smash technique and the restaurant's namesake house-made slaw sauce.
Every burger at Slaw Burger is smashed fresh on a flat-top griddle using 100% halal-certified Angus beef - the technique creates the crispy, lacy-edged sear that defines the smashburger style. The differentiator is the signature slaw sauce: a proprietary house-made coleslaw-based condiment that drapes every burger and has generated the restaurant's most enthusiastic customer quotes, including one Yelp reviewer calling it 'one of the best burgers I've ever had.' The Double Classic - two patties, American cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, slaw sauce - is the clearest expression of the concept.
Slaw Burger is publishable at low-medium confidence because the current score is driven by consumer platform data rather than editorial food coverage. A first-party visit or major food review would materially sharpen the score.
10/10 best smash burger in the state!
Burgers never disappoint, grilled onions and sauce are amazing.
The food is outstanding!!
We tried the Slawzilla and the SlawFather and they were so good!
The SLAW Burger might honestly be one of the best burgers I've ever had.
