A craft brewery pub smashburger with culinary pedigree - chef Neal Brown's three-cut beef blend (chuck, short rib, brisket) and a Jucy Lucy riff that gets the smash-cheese ratio exactly right. Happy hour: $5 before 5 PM.

Daredevil Hall opened in February 2019 inside the Ironworks Hotel on Indianapolis's north side - the all-ages sports pub companion to Daredevil Brewing Co., founded by brothers Shane and Michael Pearson. Conceived after a trip to Munich's Augustiner-Brau taproom, the concept is craft-beer-forward bar food with genuine culinary ambition. Culinary partner Chef Neal Brown (Ukiyo, Libertine Liquor Bar, Pizzology) built a menu anchored by a three-cut smash burger designed to hold its own alongside 24 rotating taps.
The Hall Smash Burger uses a chuck, short rib, and brisket blend - a cut above the standard smash patty - pressed on a hot grill until caramelized, then topped simply with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and remoulade. The standout variation is the Juicy Brewcy: two smash patties pressed around pub cheese, a riff on the Minneapolis Jucy Lucy that replaces a thick stuffed burger with the full-coverage sear of the smash technique. Indianapolis Monthly called the burger a must-order at opening; their 2025 burger guide still includes it six years later.
Indianapolis does not have local Infatuation coverage or a staffed Eater city desk, so Tier 1 weighting leans heavily on Indianapolis Monthly plus local market outlets and consumer aggregates.
This Ironworks anchor sears a mix of chuck, short rib, and brisket on a hot grill, then flips it onto a bun with traditional toppings and fancy fixings like avocado, grilled poblano, bacon - even peanut butter.
While you can never go wrong with the classic Hall Smash Burger, the Juicy Brewcy is a personal favorite.
The patties were nice and flat as promised and I liked that the bun didn't overwhelm it - it kind of smoshed down into the burger. Really good. Really juicy.
The food doesn't try to outshine the beer; the two seem equally relevant.
You've got to stop by Daredevil for a local brew and - of course - a smash burger. Visit before 5 PM for a $5 Hall Smash Burger!
The Juicy Brewcy lives up to its name - pub cheese stuffed between two smash patties, and it oozes in the best way possible.
Great spot to catch a game, grab a craft beer, and have a legitimately good smashburger. The $5 happy hour deal before 5 PM is unbeatable.
