901 Smash Burgers opened in Memphis's Whitehaven neighborhood in 2024, bringing halal smash burgers to the storefront that housed Uncle Lou's Fried Chicken for 24 years. Owner Belal Kaid, who also runs Flaming Pizza and Drurar Roastery (a Yemeni coffee shop in Cordova), built 901 around 100% halal beef, hand-cut fries, and a menu that spans smash burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, fried chicken, and shrimp po'boys.
The Double Smash is the anchor - two fresh halal beef patties smashed hard against a hot griddle, American cheese, and house toppings on a fresh bun.
