Bad Luck Burger Club launched in May 2021 as what founders Andy Atkins and Cody Driggers called a "super secret smash burger pop-up" - two guys with flattop griddles who started making burgers from parking lots around Nashville when the pandemic shut down the music industry they'd both been working in. What started as pop-ups outside bars and breweries built a devoted following fast enough to land them a permanent truck spot at Honeytree Meadery in East Nashville by January 2024.
The Bad Luck Burger is a double smash with two fully-seared beef patties, American cheese melted directly on the cook, caramelized onions, dill pickles, and the house Lucky Sauce on a toasted potato bun - at $12. The caramelized onions are the move: most food truck smashburgers skip that step, but BLBC doesn't, and it's the difference between a good smashburger and a great one. The Infatuation rated it 8.8/10 and declared it the best smashburger in Nashville.
