Game Over opened May 3, 2025 in downtown West Bend at 228 N. 6th Ave., taking over the former 6th Ave. Bar & Grill space under owner Wesley Feest and head chef Nate Mankowski. The concept is a retro 80s/90s arcade bar and grill where the games and the smashburgers get equal billing — and less than a year after opening, the burgers earned a spot in Wisconsin's Best Burger Elite Eight.
The menu centers on a lineup of smashed double-patty burgers — The Homie (classic double smash with house sauce), The G Thang (elevated build), Frenchie, Fiesta, and Cowabunga — each leaning into a theme without losing sight of the fundamental smash technique. The Wisconsin Beef Council recognized Game Over's burger as one of the eight best in the state in its 2026 contest, a significant achievement for a restaurant open barely a year.
Game Over is an arcade-themed bar and grill rather than a dedicated burger-only shop. The Smash Score reflects the strength of The Homie and the burger program specifically, with a medium-high confidence level because the restaurant is still new and long-term review history is limited.
