NYC's top-ranked plant-based smashburger, open until 3am on weekends. The Infatuation's #1 pick for non-meat-eaters in the city.

Moonburger started as a plant-based drive-thru in Kingston, NY in 2021, founded by Jeremy Robinson-Leon with support from chef-y collaborators including cookbook author Alison Roman. After winning over the Hudson Valley with locations in New Paltz and Poughkeepsie, the brand landed in Williamsburg in July 2024 - their first NYC outpost, set inside the former Cutlets' corner lot, and the only Moonburger location with a beer and wine license.
The MB Classic is built on a Schmidt's potato roll with a smashed Impossible Veggie (or NY Beef) patty, signature double-caramelized onion, dill pickle, crunchy lettuce, and Moonburger's special sauce. The Impossible version is what The Infatuation called 'one of the most satisfying, messy, itch-scratching veggie burgers in town' - and the quadruple-napkin experience of adding American cheese confirms it. Add hot fries with Moonburger's secret spice blend and an oat milk shake for the full experience.
One of the most satisfying, messy, itch-scratching veggie burgers in town. If you don't eat meat, you can go ahead and move Moonburger to the top of this list.
The Impossible burgers are satisfyingly messy. Add American cheese for the full quadruple-napkin experience.
The MB classic was so juicy and flavorful.
Great bun, perfect smash burger with juicy flavor from the meat and tangy pickles.
Manager Tiki and the team go above and beyond to make sure every visit is a good one.
The burgers here are really good! The impossible always gets me. I love the ambiance of this place.
Pricing was on the expensive side - combo meals of burger, fries, and soda run about $20.
