Austin Monthly's 2025 Burger Bash double winner — both judges and the crowd agreed. Creekstone Farms beef, legendary JABS sauce, and a value-to-quality ratio that has the food world saying 'homegrown Shake Shack.'

JABS Burgers & Fries started the way the best food businesses often do: as a backyard obsession. Brothers Faraz and Fasi (Faseeh) Vora had been smashing patties for friends and family at every gathering, and by early 2025 the demand pushed them into a real kitchen. JABS launched at Fareground Austin — the city's flagship food hall — in March 2025, then expanded to Rainey Street, Q2 Stadium, and Cedar Park. Within its first year, Faseeh Vohra had won both the Judge's Pick and People's Choice at Austin Monthly's Burger Bash, and Ali Khan had ranked them #2 on his Best Texas Burger List.
The OG is JABS' calling card: a double smash made from Creekstone Farms grass-fed angus, pressed flat on a hot griddle for a full-surface sear, then finished with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and the house JABS sauce on a potato bun. The sauce — developed after 40 recipe iterations — is what keeps people coming back; Ali Khan compared the craving to Raising Cane's sauce. The Infatuation praised the quality-to-price ratio as 'homegrown Shake Shack,' and at around $12, the OG double remains one of Austin's best-value premium smashburgers.
These taste remarkably similar to the type of burger you'd find at Shake Shack, and considering it's a homegrown option with grass-fed beef at roughly the same price point, we consider that a win.
Some of the best Bang for your Burger Buck Smash Burgers in town. Their burger sauce is lights out amazing — ask for extra, it has a Raising Cane's-like craving.
For me it's the perfect combination of a nice sear on a smashburger whilst keeping it juicy.
Try the OG — it's a double with grilled onions, and it's one of the best ways to spend $10 on a burger in Austin without traveling back in time.
JABS stands out by keeping things simple, and nailing it. Delivers the kind of comfort food that hits every time.
Lives up to the hype and is what we consider to be the best smash burger in Austin!
