Smash City started as a halal food truck in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, built on the premise that late-night cravings deserve real food - not shortcuts. The concept grew from one truck to multiple cities, reaching Houston with its first Texas brick-and-mortar on September 13, 2025, at 6377 Westheimer Road in the Galleria area. A grand opening celebration with celebrity guests marked the arrival of a brand that had already built loyal followings through late hours and uncompromising flavor.
The menu centers on 100% halal Angus smash patties with crispy, lacy edges - a technique the kitchen applies to every build. The Jalapeño Jackpot layers grilled jalapeños and smoky beef bacon onto the standard double-smash framework, creating what Houston food blogger Larry Koestler called 'a hedonistically carnal beef experience.' The namesake Smash City burger keeps it classic: American cheese, signature sauce, pickles, and grilled onions. Everything is halal-certified, and the kitchen runs until 5am - a genuinely rare combination in the Houston burger landscape.

Absolutely one of the best smash burgers I've had in Houston. The patties were perfect, juicy in the middle, and packed with flavor. The fries were fresh and seasoned really well too.
The Smash City had two juicy, perfectly seasoned patties with crispy edged, gooey cheese, crisp pickles, grilled onions, and sauce sandwiched between 2 buttery bun toasted to perfection!
Stopped by for some burgers and they definitely did not disappoint. The bacon burger was cooked perfectly - juicy, flavorful, and the bacon had a great crunch. The branding on the bun is a nice touch.
I eat there multiple times a week. It has the best beef hamburgers that I've ever had in my life. The quality of their meat is so good - they do not skimp on things.
This has become my go-to for a great burger every time. Unlike many one-shot wonder burger joints, this place has a lot to offer with great food at a reasonable price.
So juicy and full of flavour. Fries are crispy and nicely seasoned. Best service and great vibe.
